Kritické zóny krajiny
Předkládané téma je zaměřené na aktuální vývoj environmentální i společenské situace v kontextu mé kurátorské praxe a týká se postindustriální krajiny Ústecka, Teplicka a Mostecka, kde dochází k postupnému útlumu těžby hnědého uhlí a zároveň zde probíhají rekultivace dotčeného území. V letech 2020–2023 jsme realizovali letní umělecká sympozia (Jak vidět Krajinu?, Kritické zóny krajiny, Symptomy budoucnosti) zaměřená na zkoumání této krajiny v sociálních, ekonomických i environmentálních souvislostech. Na lidskou činnost v kraji jsme se pokoušeli dívat nejen skrze její přímé regionální dopady, ale také jako na součást formujících sil, které tvoří povrch Země a mění vztahy v rámci ekosystémů. Bruno Latour nazval tuto tenkou proměněnou vrstvu, uvnitř které žijí všechny živé formy, „kritickými zónami”. Příspěvek na konferenci představí a shrne zásadní otázky, které vzešly z umělecké diskuze a mezioborového programu v rámci sympozií.
Critical Zones of the Landscape
The presented topic is focused on the current development of the environmental and social situation in the context of my curatorial practice and concerns the post-industrial landscape of Ústí nad Labem, Teplice and Most, where the gradual decline of lignite mining is taking place and at the same time the reclamation of the affected area is underway. In 2020-2023, we implemented summer art symposia (How to See the Landscape?, Critical Zones of the Landscape, Symptoms of the Future) aimed at exploring this landscape in social, economic and environmental contexts. We attempted to view human activity in the region not only through its direct regional impacts, but also as part of the shaping forces that form the Earth's surface and alter relationships within ecosystems. Bruno Latour called these thin transformed layers, within which all living forms live, "critical zones". This conference paper will present and summarize the key issues that emerged from the artistic discussion and interdisciplinary program within the symposia.
