Zahrada, plot, dialog, podceňovaná kvalita
V roce 2002 instalovala Barbara Holub v bývalé tovární budově výstavní expozici „Enactments of the Self“ – zahradu s plotem a rekvizitami zahrady. Vycházejíc ze zahrady jako synonyma soukromí zkoumá Barbara Holub roli plotu a překračování hranic na půdorysu projektu „WE PARAPOM! – European Parade of Apple Trees“. S rozšířením sledovaného tématu o reflexi projektu „Times of Dilemma“, chápaného jako další dialogická situace, diskutuje o tom, jak mohou umělecké situace posílit roli přátelství, sousedství a překročit hranice mezi „vysokou kulturou“ a „lidovou kulturou".
The Garden, the Fence, the Dialog, Underestimated Quality
In 2002, Barbara Holub created a garden with a fence and generic props of a garden as an exhibition installation for "Enactments of the Self" in a former factory building (Steirischer Herbst, Graz/ A). Starting from the garden as a synonym for privacy, Barbara Holub explores the role of the fence and the crossing of borders in the context of the project "WE PARAPOM! – European Parade of Apple Trees". Extending on the reflection of the project "Times of Dilemma", understood as another dialogical situation, Barbara Holub discusses how artistic situations can strengthen the role of friendship, neighbourhood and cross the boundaries between "high culture" and "folk culture".
