Since 2013, Barbara Herold & Florian Huth have collaborated to explore themes that intersect with those of nature and the certainly inanimate, the artificial. They are interested in phenomena that emerge in the current transitional period, phase towards full digitalisation. It is about the redefined relationship between nature and authenticity, natural nature and the fake. In their artistic approach, they work site- and technology-specific, focusing on contemporary statements about the growing digital world, the widespread desire for alternative reality.
Using specifically defined criteria, they conduct pseudo-scientific inventories that combining new and old methods of exploration, photogrammetry and image generation.
