The Icelandic artist Finnbogi Petursson uses the equipped studio and space of the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts for his projects in the residency. In addition, we also welcome his interaction and exchange of ideas with local representatives from the artistic sphere (students and teachers of the Faculty of Art and Design, J. E. Purkyně University). We organize joint meetings and presentations that encourage this open exchange and allow artists to establish new friendships and collaborations. One of these meetings in the form of Artist Talk: Andrea Resler and Finnbogi Pétursson took place on 31 May 2023 at 5 pm at the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts.
At the same time, Finnbogi Petursson is preparing a new work for an exhibition entitled “Gardening of Soul: In Five Chapters”. This exhibition will present works that focus on deep human experiences and transformations of the soul.
Together with Andrea Resler, a Croatian artist who was also in residence at the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts, he spent time on Friday 2 June 2023 at the Zubrnice Open Air Museum and Litoměřice, where they visited the exhibition of students of the Graphic Design 1 studio of the J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, together with the producers from the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts, who accompanied them during their discovery.
