Photo report from the opening ceremony of the GARDENING OF SOUL exhibition

On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 6 pm, the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts hosted a guided tour of the Gardening of Soul exhibition with the artists and curator.
 
 
Barbara Herold & Florian Huth (DE) present their works Maus rwa and Metastabil (Gipsy), 2023. The work was realized during the artists’ residency at the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts.
 
 
Jiří Philippe Janda & Václav Mach, Dissemination 2023/2024, Sketches for implementation. Project prepared for public space in collaboration with Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.
 
 
The artwork of Zdena Kolečková the Mostecká ark is presented by the curator of the exhibition Michal Koleček, it is a project prepared for public space in cooperation with the Most Primary Art School.
 
 
Artist Jan Krtička talks about his artwork the Sound Bridge, 2023, realized in collaboration with the Skaftfell Art Center, Iceland.
 
 
Michal Koleček, the curator of the exhibition, presents the artwork of Robert Vlasák entitled Membrane, a project prepared for public space in collaboration with People in Need, Ústí nad Labem, Předlice.

Stephen Hobbs & Marcus Neustetter present their artwork the Soul City, 2023. The spatial installation was realised during the artists’ residency at the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts.
 
 
Wong Wo Bik presents his artwork the Dance with Lake and the Rock, 2023, which was realized during his residency at the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts.
 
 
The exhibition curator Michal Koleček and artist Jiří Kovanda talk about the artwork by Jiří Kovanda and Ivana Lovětínská called Hidden Plants, 2023, a work created for public space in collaboration with the Cultural Club of the Volunteer Centre in Ústí nad Labem.
 
 
 
The artist Finnbogi Pétursson presents his artwork the Republic Frequencies, which was realized during the artist’s residency at the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts.
 
 
Artist Olia Fedorova presents her artwork A garden that didn’t happen, 2023, her artwork is realized within the artist’s residency at the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts.
 
 
The curator of the exhibition Michal Koleček presents the artwork of Man Tin,  the Learning Shan Shui, Generating Feng Shui, 2023.
 
 
Jiří Bartoš and Jan C. Löbl present their artwork entitled the House, 2023, a project prepared for public space in collaboration with the Velké Březno Retirement Home.
 
 
At 7 pm was the opening ceremony of the Gardening of Soul exhibition.

From 19.30 was the Traces of Process, a presentation of experimental outcomes on the facade of the Ústí nad Labem House of Art, in collaboration with Marcus Neustetter, with the participation of artists: Alžběta Remišová, Elle Peterka, Jiří Dvořák, Michal Lukáč, Milan Kožnar, Nela Neubauerová, Tomáš Hájek. 
 
 
 
Musical performance by Lady Jaffe in the multifunctional hall from 9 pm.
