One of the highlights of Wong Wo Bik’s stay in our residency was her Artist Talk, which took place on September 20, 2023, at 5:00 PM in Ústí nad Labem House of Arts. During this event, Wong Wo Bik introduced her work and shared her creative journey with our community. It was a rare opportunity to gain insight into the thoughts and processes of this talented artist.
Wong Wo Bik is also actively preparing for the upcoming exhibition titled “Gardening of Soul: In five chapters.” This exhibition will showcase also her latest work, focusing on harmony in dissonance and transformations of the Lake Milada and Tisá Rocks. Wong began working on this project during her residency at our gallery, and we cannot wait to present their work and the works of other artists in residences to our community and the broader public.
In her artistic journey, she draws inspiration from the delicate ecosystem and metaphor of gardening, the imposing-built structures of cities, the resilient spirit of wilderness, and the fragile quality of our planet. Ultimately, “Harmony in Dissonance is an invitation to call for dialogues between man-made and natural environments.
