Meeting of artists in the club of the Volunteer Center

Another meeting to prepare the creation of artwork in a public space took place at the Enter 22 club in the Volunteer Center on Masarykova Street. Director Lenka Vonka Černá showed the project team and artists Jiří Kovanda and Iva Zochová the premises of the ground floor of Masarykova Street, where the Volunteer Center is preparing to establish a new community club for Ukrainian refugees in Ústí nad Labem. The artists were inspired by the space, and they will further focus on identifying the needs of local residents and visitors to the future Ukrainian community club, so that they can take these aspects into account in their artwork.

Jiří Kovanda is a Czech performer, visual artist and teacher. Since 2008, he has been leading the Performance Studio at the Faculty of Art and Design of the J. E. In 2006, he received the Michal Ranný Award for his artistic contribution, and a year later, young artists and theorists declared him the first holder of the Artist has prize award. He is occasionally involved in curation and graphic design.

Ivana Zochová is a multimedia artist. At the Faculty of Art and Design of the J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, she works as an assistant professor in the Performance Studio.
